It's official: production for Master Crimes Season 4 is currently underway in Paris and its surrounding areas. Marwen Abdallah, who directed the first three seasons, returns to helm the new episodes. The screenplay is once again a collaborative effort, with writing credits going to Virginie Parietti (Plus belle la vie encore plus belle), Yann Le Gal (Section de recherches), and Marine Gacem (Après la nuit).

This season, Professor Louise Arbus, the brilliant psychocriminologist, faces a new adversary in Maxime Germain, the Academy Inspector. Germain is scrutinizing her unconventional methods, with the explicit goal of ending her teaching career. Adding to her professional woes, Louise must also contend with a personal challenge: her son, Guillaume Arbus, enrolls as a student at the university. According to a press release from TF1, this "unexpected arrival threatens not only her plans but also the fragile balance of her small group of students." This double whammy promises a season full of surprises and dramatic tension.

Muriel Robin is, of course, reprising her role as Louise Arbus. She will be joined by Anne Le Nen, returning as Captain Barbara Delandre, and Michael Cohen as Doctor Théodore Belin. TF1 also teases that it's not just Louise's life that will be turned upside down; Barbara and Théodore's relationship will face "an unexpected revelation that shakes everything up." The rest of the confirmed cast includes Nicolas Gob as Guillaume Arbus, Thaïs Vauquières as Valentine Vallée, Mikael Mittelstadt, Ayumi Roux as Alysson Yang, Nordine Ganso as Boris Volodine, Olivier Claverie as Commissioner Oscar, and Alban Casterman as the aforementioned Inspector Maxime Germain. This ensemble promises a fourth season packed with professional challenges and personal upheavals for its beloved characters.
