About Popcorn Wire
A daily record of film and television — what gets made, what gets seen, and who makes it.
What we publish
Popcorn Wire covers the film and television industry: releases and reviews, box office, awards, festivals, streaming, and the people whose work moves all of it. We publish continuously rather than in editions, because the industry does not wait for a print deadline.
How our coverage is produced
We are a small operation, and we say plainly how that works. Our newsroom monitors a curated set of trade publications and wire feeds. Reporting that matters is then rewritten into our own words, checked against the source, and enriched with structured reference data — filmographies, release dates, credits — drawn from open databases.
Articles produced this way carry a visible label. We never present a synthesized report as original on-the-ground reporting, and every one of them links to the source it draws from, so you can read the original whenever you want to. If you think a piece misrepresents its source, we want to hear about it — that is a correction, not a complaint.
Languages
Popcorn Wire publishes in several languages. A translated article is the same reporting, not a different one: the source, the label and the corrections apply identically across every language we publish in.
Corrections
We correct errors as soon as we know about them, and we do not delete the record quietly. If something we published is wrong, write to us at [email protected] and tell us what it should say.
Independence
Popcorn Wire is funded by advertising. Advertisers have no say in what we cover or how we cover it, and no advance sight of it. Advertising is labelled as such wherever it appears.
