Becoming the most-watched series on Netflix in around fifty countries, including France, its trajectory appeared promising. However, the platform's weekly viewership figures reveal a different story. In its first five days, this new season attracted 6.7 million subscribers, accumulating 49.8 million hours viewed.

This only ranks as the third-best total on the platform for that week. More concerning, Season 2's viewership dropped by a substantial 45% compared to its first season. For context, in March 2024, the series had garnered 12.2 million viewers during its initial week on the platform.

Is a Season 3 Planned?

Despite this significant decline, it will not impact the program's immediate future. A third season of 'The Gentlemen' has already been commissioned by Netflix. Furthermore, its casting could see a brand-new, high-profile addition: Meghan Markle.

Could the Duchess of Sussex's grand return to a series help the show reclaim its initial viewership numbers? For now, we await confirmation from Markle herself or the show's production, as it remains unconfirmed. Undoubtedly, it would be a massive promotional coup for the upcoming season.

However, this apparent success doesn't necessarily bode well for the series' long-term future beyond Season 3. The first two seasons of 'The Gentlemen' are currently available for streaming on Netflix.
