Rising Hollywood talent Connor Storrie is poised for a major career milestone, with reports indicating he is in advanced discussions to portray the central villain in Marvel's highly anticipated Ghost Rider movie. The film is set to feature Ryan Gosling as the titular demonic hero, Johnny Blaze, and would place Storrie in a pivotal role within the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe.
According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Storrie's negotiations are underway for the villainous part. This news follows his meteoric rise to prominence, largely fueled by the unexpected success of the Canadian series Heated Rivalry, which premiered on HBO Max in France. In the show, Storrie garnered critical acclaim for his portrayal of a Russian hockey player who falls for his on-ice rival, transforming him from a relative unknown into a household name.
Since Heated Rivalry debuted in late 2025, Storrie has been in high demand, securing roles in a variety of independent projects such as Molly Gordon's Peaked, Halina Reijn's Please, and Turpentine alongside Melissa McCarthy, as well as The Bell Jar with Billie Eilish. However, the Ghost Rider project would undoubtedly be his biggest blockbuster to date.
Ryan Gosling is widely expected to embody Johnny Blaze, the most iconic iteration of Ghost Rider. Blaze, a motorcycle stuntman, makes a Faustian bargain with the devil to save his adoptive father's life, a pact that binds him to a demonic entity, transforming him into the fiery-skulled Spirit of Vengeance. The film was officially announced during Marvel's panel at the most recent San Diego Comic-Con and is slated to begin filming next year in New York. It will also reunite Gosling with director Shawn Levy, who recently helmed Star Wars: Starfighter with the actor.
The identity of Storrie's potential villain remains under wraps, but speculation is already rife. One of Ghost Rider's most notorious adversaries is Mephisto, a character who has already made an appearance in the MCU in the Ironheart series, played by Sacha Baron Cohen. Storrie could potentially portray Blackheart, Mephisto's son, a villain who previously appeared in the 2007 Ghost Rider film starring Nicolas Cage.
This wouldn't be Storrie's first foray into the superhero genre. He had a memorable, albeit brief, role in Joker: Folie à deux, where he played an Arkham Asylum inmate who seemingly kills Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix), hinting that his character might be the true Clown Prince of Crime. His potential casting in Ghost Rider as a primary antagonist underscores his burgeoning appeal and versatility.
For the 26-year-old actor, securing a lead villain role in a major Marvel film represents a significant turning point. Just a year prior, Storrie reportedly considered returning to his serving job after the first season of Heated Rivalry. Since then, he has become the face of luxury brands and even hosted Saturday Night Live, earning an Emmy nomination for his performance. Knight Edge Media has reported that the Ghost Rider role was offered to Storrie without an audition, a testament to his undeniable momentum and status as one of Hollywood's most sought-after young stars.
Ghost Rider is currently scheduled for release on July 26, 2028.
