Building on a partnership first established in November 2023, Disney and the Sundance Institute are once again opening their coffers to a new cohort of talented filmmakers. IndieWire exclusively revealed the recipients of the latest rounds of both the Project Advancement and Completion Fund and the Artist Fellowship, programs designed to nurture the next generation of cinematic voices.
The Project Advancement and Completion Fund offers $25,000 grants, specifically aimed at helping filmmakers bring a particular project to fruition. Meanwhile, the Artist Fellowship provides $15,000 grants, intended to support artists in developing their overall career trajectories within the film industry.
Hajnal Molnar-Szakacs, director of the Artist Accelerator & Women @ Sundance Institute, expressed gratitude for the collaboration. "We are proud to champion these filmmakers as they continue to refine their voices and share their unique perspectives with the world," Molnar-Szakacs stated.
Echoing this sentiment, Mahita Simpson, head of Creative Talent Pathways for The Walt Disney Studios, emphasized Sundance's proven track record. "We are thrilled to continue our collaboration with the Institute to champion this next generation of filmmakers and provide meaningful support," said Simpson.
