As reported by Deadline, the deal sees Bangkok-based sales agent Diversion license the rights to Dekanalog, bringing director Tan Siyou’s compelling narrative to audiences in the region. The agreement was negotiated by Mai Meksawan on behalf of Diversion and George Schmalz for Dekanalog.

'Amoeba' centers on a 16-year-old high school dropout in Singapore who makes an unexpected return to her elite all-girls Chinese school. Her acts of defiance against authoritarian teachers catch the attention of three fellow misfits, leading to the formation of an unbreakable bond. Inspired by local 'triad tales,' the quartet decides to form their own gang – a challenging endeavor in modern Singapore, a society known for its strict regulations, where even chewing gum is illegal. This intriguing premise promises a fresh take on themes of rebellion, friendship, and identity within a unique cultural backdrop.

Since its premiere in the Discovery section of the Toronto International Film Festival in 2025, 'Amoeba' has consistently impressed critics and juries worldwide, accumulating a substantial collection of accolades. He added that Dekanalog "intend[s] to further grow our audience with Amoeba," signaling a clear intent to connect the film with a receptive demographic.

Film enthusiasts can anticipate 'Amoeba' making its US theatrical debut in spring 2027. Following its theatrical run, Dekanalog plans to release the film on VOD and Blu-Ray, ensuring broad accessibility. A Canadian theatrical release is also in the pipeline, promising a comprehensive rollout across North America for this acclaimed independent feature.
