Evidently, Prison Break clings to life. While the series created by Paul Scheuring was, in many opinions, already a bit long in its initial run (four seasons released between 2005 and 2009), it received a final hurrah in the form of a mini-series in 2017, Prison Break: Resurrection.

That could have been the end if Disney hadn't acquired 21st Century Fox in 2019, with the ambition of maximizing all its recognizable brands. As a result, showrunner Elgin James (The Outlaws) will oversee a curious return for Prison Break, neither a sequel, nor a prequel, nor truly a spin-off (at least for now), and notably without the series' two main faces, Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell. **Following recent casting announcements, this reboot (for lack of a better term) finally reveals its title in two initial teasers broadcast by Hulu.**

Escape: User Manual

As seen above, the Hulu platform has officially announced the start of production for its new Prison Break series. This primarily served as an opportunity to discover its subtitle: Black Creek. One would be willing to bet that this will be the name of the penitentiary where the majority of the plot will unfold. It's also clear that the series doesn't bear its title just for show; the goal will once again be to escape from prison.

While it plays the information-retention card almost as much, the second teaser does show us a character. Granted, from the back, the person on screen appears to be a visibly imprisoned woman (we therefore doubt it's Emily Browning, who is supposed to play a guard). Most notably, a tattoo is visible on her hand: LOVELESS (to obtain this information, the author of these lines had to flip their computer screen – not to be reproduced without professional help).

While it's not impossible that the young woman on screen is an avid fan of the band My Bloody Valentine, it's more likely that this tattoo will be the key to a secret, or even an escape. The series would thus be replicating a famous narrative idea from the original seasons. Finally, both teasers draw our attention to the name of the director of photography for the season (or at least some episodes): Vanessa Joy Smith. It's probably no coincidence that she worked on the series Mayans M.C., another creation by Elgin James, and in which several actors cast for this reboot have also appeared.

It's still too early to know a release date for Prison Break: Black Creek, but since the series has just begun filming, it's not impossible that it will arrive on Hulu (and thus Disney+ in France) as early as 2027.
