The news of a Glee revival has been met with mixed emotions, a blend of excitement and trepidation given the show's complex history and the tragedies that have affected its cast. The original series, created by Ryan Murphy, concluded its six-season run in March 2015, leaving a lasting cultural impact. Now, almost a decade later, the prospect of new stories from McKinley High has fans eager to see which familiar faces might return.

However, for Chris Colfer, whose portrayal of the pioneering openly gay character Kurt Hummel earned him a Golden Globe, the future of Glee remains a mystery. Speaking to Bustle, Colfer shared his surprise at the lack of communication from the show's producers. "I know nothing and I've heard absolutely nothing about the reboot," he admitted, indicating he's as much in the dark as the fans themselves.

Colfer acknowledged the challenges inherent in bringing Glee back, particularly in light of the passing of cast member Naya Rivera, who played Santana Lopez. "It was a really complicated show to make, and it would be even harder today, especially without Naya Rivera," he commented. Despite the difficulties, the actor understands the immense pressure from the dedicated fanbase. He humorously noted, "I know Glee fans would chase me with pitchforks and jazz hands if I refused to be a part of it!" While he hopes for more information soon, Colfer stated he's currently unsure of his exact plans should an offer materialize.

Beyond the revival, Colfer maintains strong connections with his former castmates. He revealed that he speaks with a Glee alum nearly every day, sharing lighthearted messages, funny pictures, and updates on their children. These bonds extend beyond digital communication, as evidenced by his recent support for Harry Shum Jr., who played Mike Chang, on the American version of Dancing with the Stars. Colfer expressed his delight in seeing Shum Jr. "shine," calling him "one of the best people in the world." He recounted the "magical" experience of watching Shum Jr. dance alongside his daughter.

As Glee fans await further details on the revival, the question of who will return to the hallowed halls of McKinley High remains open. While Chris Colfer's involvement is currently uncertain, his continued connection to the Glee family and the fans' undeniable desire for his return suggest that the story of Kurt Hummel might not be over just yet.
