The narrative of "Nina Roza" centers on Mihail, who, 30 years after leaving his home country of Bulgaria, is sent back to assess the work of an 8-year-old Bulgarian artist whose viral video has captivated a major art collector. This journey forces Mihail to confront the unresolved aspects of his past, weaving a poignant tale of identity and belonging.
Dekanalog plans a robust U.S. release strategy for "Nina Roza," beginning with a theatrical run in early 2027, followed by its availability on VOD and Blu-ray. Sam Wunderl, a partner at Dekanalog, expressed the distributor's enthusiasm for the film's thematic depth. "'Nina Roza' brilliantly explores the subtle, but profound ways immigration affects a person’s identity — something all too rarely depicted on screen," Wunderl stated, emphasizing their pride in bringing Dulude-De Celles' work to American audiences.
