Rebel Wilson takes center stage both in front of and behind the camera for her latest venture, Girl Group. The Australian multihyphenate stars as Tassie Young, a former pop sensation whose meteoric rise with her four best friends began at a 1996 talent show. However, Tassie's notorious party lifestyle led to her departure from the group in 2006.

Fast forward to the present, Tassie discovers her former bandmates are embarking on a reunion tour—without her. Following a DUI arrest, she's mandated to teach music at the East Hollywood Community Center. Here, she stumbles upon a group of talented teen girls, and a new mission emerges: prepare them for an audition with a major record label.
