Blood traces a path down his arm to his wrist, spattering the car door below, while a gold-toned watch adorns the injured limb. This compelling visual is the first official look at Kapoor's character in the film.
"Love & War" marks a significant reunion for Kapoor and acclaimed director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, nearly two decades after Bhansali launched Kapoor's career with the 2007 romance “Saawariya.” The project is touted as a fresh screen persona for Kapoor, meticulously shaped by Bhansali, and described as the filmmaker's most ambitious romantic endeavor to date.
Since its initial announcement, the film has been a hot topic among fans and industry observers, fueling rampant speculation about the intricate relationships between its three leading stars—Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal. This inaugural image, while revealing a tense moment for Kapoor's character, keeps the specific plot details and the dynamics of the rumored love triangle under wraps, inviting further anticipation.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali, known for his grand-scale period dramas such as “Devdas,” “Bajirao Mastani,” “Padmaavat,” and “Gangubai Kathiawadi,” as well as the Netflix series “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar,” brings his distinctive vision to this new romantic saga. Alia Bhatt previously headlined Bhansali's critically acclaimed “Gangubai Kathiawadi,” which premiered at the 2022 Berlinale, while Kapoor and Bhatt shared the screen in Disney’s mythological superhero film “Brahmastra Part One: Shiva” (2022).
The ensemble cast also boasts Vicky Kaushal, fresh off the success of “Chhaava,” one of Bollywood's biggest hits of 2025. Ranbir Kapoor's last major theatrical release, “Animal,” was among 2023’s highest-grossing Indian films, further raising expectations for his role in "Love & War."
