Directed by Harry Bradbeer, known for his work on Enola Holmes and Fleabag, the film sees Larson taking on the role of Katy Silver. The story, set against the picturesque backdrop of Italy’s Amalfi Coast, delves into a young woman's journey through a devastating loss, leading her to reconnect with her mother in an unexpected new light.
Larson not only stars but also serves as an executive producer on the project, alongside author Rebecca Serle and David Stone for TFC Productions. Temple Hill Entertainment is also producing the feature.
The May 12, 2028, release date places One Italian Summer in direct competition with New Line’s next installment in the popular Final Destination franchise.
Brie Larson’s upcoming slate is busy, with roles in the horror film Skeletons (due next summer from Sony), FX’s Cry Wolf, and Amazon MGM Studios’ Close Personal Friends. She is also recognized for her performances in Lessons in Chemistry, her iconic role as Captain Marvel in the MCU, and a voice role in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
Director Harry Bradbeer's credits extend beyond Enola Holmes to include acclaimed series like Killing Eve and Spider-Noir. He is currently in post-production on Netflix’s A Matter of Time, featuring Ben Stiller, and is attached to direct an adaptation of the thriller novel Eight Perfect Murders.
