'The Retrievals' tells the harrowing story of women who underwent in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures without proper anesthesia, and who subsequently unite to confront the powerful institution of Yale University. Chastain is cast as Kaitlyn Langford, an art history professor and one of the victims of this medical scandal, a role that aligns perfectly with the actress's known advocacy for social causes and women's rights.
