As first reported by Collider, Michael Weatherly will reprise his role as the quick-witted DiNozzo, joining Mark Harmon's present-day Gibbs on the prequel series NCIS: Origins.
NCIS: Origins, which premiered in 2024, delves into the early career of a young Leroy Gibbs in the 1990s, years before the original NCIS series began. While Austin Stowell portrays the younger Gibbs on screen, Mark Harmon, who famously played the character for nearly two decades, serves as the series' narrator and executive producer. This season, however, has seen Harmon's involvement deepen considerably. His present-day Gibbs, having retired to Alaska in 2021, was abruptly drawn back into action after being shot by a mysterious assailant connected to a past case.
