Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence is poised to re-team with director Gene Stupnitsky for the romantic comedy 'One Month Mark.' The 'No Hard Feelings' collaborators are joining forces once again for the Apple Original Films and Chernin Entertainment production, with Stupnitsky in final talks to direct Lawrence, who is also producing through her Excellent Cadaver banner.

The project, based on a script penned by Sophie Fleur de Bruijn, boasts an intriguing premise: a woman who has never sustained a relationship beyond a month, crosses paths with a man who has never gone a month without one. This contemporary take on the rom-com genre promises a fresh dynamic for audiences.

According to a report from Deadline, the decision to bring Stupnitsky on board was a deliberate one, with Lawrence herself championing the director after their positive experience on last year's R-rated comedy, 'No Hard Feelings.' Insiders noted that the actress felt Stupnitsky was the ideal fit for 'One Month Mark,' underscoring a strong creative synergy between the two.

Stupnitsky's career has seen a significant ascent in recent years. Beyond directing 'No Hard Feelings,' he gained acclaim for his 2019 comedy hit 'Good Boys.' His impressive resume also includes co-creating the Emmy-nominated series 'Jury Duty' and co-writing popular comedy features like 'Bad Teacher.' He is currently involved in producing the Sony comedy 'Narcs,' further solidifying his standing in the comedy landscape.

The journey of 'One Month Mark' to the screen has been noteworthy. The spec script ignited a fierce bidding war last summer, attracting interest from over 40 production companies, independent financiers, and even studios and streamers. It was described as an auction unlike any seen for a comedy in years. Chernin Entertainment ultimately secured the script, and once Lawrence attached herself as star and producer, Apple quickly came on board to package the film.

Producing duties for 'One Month Mark' will be handled by Apple Studios, with David Ready and Peter Chernin overseeing for Chernin Entertainment. Jennifer Lawrence and her producing partner Justine Ciarrocchi will produce under their Excellent Cadaver banner. Sophie Fleur de Bruijn, the script's author, will also serve as an executive producer alongside Brady Fujikawa.

With Lawrence and Stupnitsky now officially on board, the focus will shift to casting the male lead opposite Lawrence. Given the project's high profile, this role is expected to attract considerable attention from actors across Hollywood, adding another layer of anticipation to this promising romantic comedy.
