The highly anticipated DC Studios project, 'The People v. Gorilla Grodd,' has completed principal photography. Star Skyler Gisondo, known for his portrayal of Clark Kent's pal Jimmy Olsen in the upcoming 'Superman' movie, shared the exciting news during an interview with Collider at the SCAD Savannah Film Festival.

"We're done. We just wrapped a couple of weeks ago, and...yeah. It's in the can, man," Gisondo revealed, confirming that the series is now in post-production. The show is described as a mockumentary that will put the infamous super-intelligent ape, Gorilla Grodd (played by Jimmy Tatro), on trial in the court of public opinion. This unique premise aims to explore the DC world from an entirely new perspective.

Gisondo was effusive in his praise for the series' creators, Dan Perrault and Tony Yascenda, who are celebrated for their work on the critically acclaimed mockumentary series 'American Vandal.' He highlighted their perfect fit for the project, stating, "This is like an approach to this world that we have not seen. I'm excited to see how it all shapes up."

Gorilla Grodd, a formidable foe primarily associated with The Flash, was created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino in 1959. Originating from Gorilla City, a hidden civilization of super-intelligent gorillas granted their powers by an alien spaceship, Grodd stands out as a megalomaniacal genius intent on world domination, unlike his more peaceful compatriots. The series is expected to delve into these origins in its distinctive mockumentary style.

Skyler Gisondo's career continues to be on the ascendant. Recognized as a 'Breaking Big' honoree at the Savannah Film Festival, his upcoming slate includes the comedy sequel 'Focker-In-Law,' a voice role in 'Shrek 5,' and a return as Jimmy Olsen in the silver-screen superhero film 'Man of Tomorrow.' His involvement in 'The People v. Gorilla Grodd' further solidifies his growing presence in major film and television productions.

While 'The People v. Gorilla Grodd' is slated for a 2027 release, a specific premiere date has not yet been announced. The series is expected to stream on HBO Max, and its unconventional approach is generating considerable buzz among DC fans eager for fresh storytelling.
