As reported by Deadline, Dogwoof, a prominent London-based producer and distributor, is heading into MIPCOM with an impressive slate, having secured key international sales rights for two eagerly anticipated festival titles. The company has notably picked up global distribution for 'Rapinoe,' the documentary focusing on the celebrated soccer star Megan Rapinoe, and 'Hanging By a Wire,' a gripping rescue story that will represent Pakistan at the upcoming Oscars.

'Rapinoe' made its debut last month as the opener for the TIFF Docs program at the Toronto Film Festival. Dogwoof has acquired the international rights to the film, with North America being the sole exception. Directed by Rebeca Huntt, known for her work on 'Beba,' the documentary offers an intimate look into the life of two-time women's World Cup champion Megan Rapinoe. The film traces her journey from a working-class upbringing in Redding, California, to becoming an international sports icon and a vocal advocate for equal pay. It delves into the personal sacrifices behind her public battles and chronicles her transition away from professional soccer. The project is produced by Story Syndicate and Noah Media Group, with Impact Partners presenting.

Adding another significant title to its roster, Dogwoof has also taken on international sales for 'Hanging By a Wire.' The company previously handled the film's theatrical release in the UK. This documentary gained further prominence last week when it was announced as Pakistan’s official selection for the International Feature Film category at the 2027 Oscars. Directed by Mohammed Ali Naqvi, 'Hanging By a Wire' premiered at Sundance 2026. The film recounts the extraordinary true story of a high-stakes rescue operation involving six schoolboys and two adults who became trapped in a cable car, suspended perilously 900 feet above a ravine in the remote Himalayan foothills of northern Pakistan. The production boasts a collaborative effort from Louis Theroux’s Mindhouse Productions, EverWonder Studio, Universal Pictures Content Group, and 64th Street Media. While Paramount+ holds rights in several territories, and Abramorama manages U.S. sales, Dogwoof will oversee its distribution elsewhere globally.

These acquisitions underscore Dogwoof's continued commitment to bringing compelling, high-impact documentaries to international audiences, leveraging the buzz generated by major film festivals and prestigious awards recognition.
