In a recent interview with IGN, Peter Safran addressed the growing anticipation for marketing materials from the next Superman cinematic outing. When questioned about the timeline for the film's promotional push and the much-desired trailer, Safran stated, "I think it's early days, it's early days. That's something that we'll determine in the coming month."

This update comes as Man of Tomorrow, a pivotal entry in the DCU's Chapter 1: "Gods and Monsters" slate, concluded its primary filming in August. The film is set to introduce David Corenswet as the new Superman and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, promising a fresh take on the iconic hero's universe.

The conversation also touched upon the recent merger between Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount, forming Skydance. Safran was asked whether this significant corporate shift would alter DC Studios' approach to marketing its upcoming projects. He downplayed immediate changes, noting the merger was very recent. "No, not yet. But, remember, the whole thing's a week old, it was literally last Tuesday," Safran explained. He did, however, express enthusiasm for the return of theatrical marketing and distribution executive Josh Goldstine, highlighting a strong working relationship that bodes well for future campaigns, including the upcoming Clayface film.

While James Gunn, co-CEO of DC Studios and director/writer of Man of Tomorrow, is currently immersed in writing his next project, Safran confirmed that Gunn's passion for the DCU remains undimmed. Despite a packed schedule that previously included writing Creature Commandos, directing Peacemaker Season 2, and prepping Man of Tomorrow, Gunn's "never-ending enthusiasm and excitement" suggests he won't be taking a lengthy break before tackling his next directorial endeavor.

Man of Tomorrow is slated to feature Superman and Lex Luthor potentially teaming up against the formidable Brainiac. The film will also see the return of several DCU heroes, including Aaron Pierre reprising his role as John Stewart (Green Lantern) and Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner. New additions to the cast include Adria Arjona, Matthew Lillard, and Sinqua Walls in undisclosed roles.

Man of Tomorrow is scheduled to open in theaters on July 9, 2027.
