Daniel Henney, known for his roles in Prime Video's 'The Wheel of Time' and 'Criminal Minds,' will portray Jae Chun, a high-profile and successful attorney. His addition further solidifies a strong ensemble for the series, which promises a high-stakes espionage narrative.
'Disavowed' centers on Brad Griffin, a legendary CIA case officer, whose career takes an unexpected turn when he is abruptly fired. This dismissal occurs in the midst of his global hunt for an elusive assassin responsible for the murder of a colleague. Disgraced and cut off from the intelligence community, Griffin decides to pursue the assassin independently, motivated by a substantial 15 million dollar federal bounty placed on the killer's head. James Marsden, who was the first actor announced for the project back in May, will star as Brad Griffin.
The series boasts an impressive creative team, with Art Marcum and Matt Holloway serving as creators and executive producers. Both are recognized for their work on major action films. Tom Spezialy and James Marsden are also on board as executive producers, bringing additional creative vision to the project. Production is handled by Blue Marble Pictures and Apple Studios, with Theresa Kang and Caroline Garity also executive producing.
Henney's career spans both American and Korean productions. Beyond his recent work as Lan Mandragoran in 'The Wheel of Time' and his long-running role in 'Criminal Minds' and its spin-off 'Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders,' he gained early recognition in Korea with the 2005 romantic comedy-drama 'My Lovely Sam-Soon.' His film credits include 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine,' 'Missing,' and voice work in animated features such as 'Big Hero 6' as Tadashi Hamada and the English version of Netflix's 'Genie, Make a Wish' as Jinn.
While the casting news builds excitement for 'Disavowed,' an official release date for the Apple TV+ series has yet to be announced.
