Nina Gold’s remarkable career, spanning over 100 projects, is currently in high gear. She is notably at the helm of one of Hollywood’s most anticipated casting announcements: the next James Bond. Beyond this high-profile undertaking, Gold has recently been involved in a slate of major productions, including Sam Mendes’ upcoming quartet of Beatles biopics, Greta Gerwig’s Narnia movie, J.J. Abrams’ The Great Beyond, and the Apple TV+ series Slow Horses.
Her influence will be particularly felt at the 34th annual Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF), where three films she cast are slated for screening. These include Mike Leigh’s Tender Loving Care, Anton Corbijn’s A Talent For Murder, and Arie Esiri and Chuko Esiri’s Clarissa.
Tender Loving Care, Gold’s ninth collaboration with director Mike Leigh, features Emmy-winning actress Kate O’Flynn, alongside Alice Bailey Johnson, Marion Bailey, and Paul Jesson. The film premiered at the Telluride Film Festival and is scheduled for a December 4 release by Bleecker Street.

A Talent For Murder brings together a compelling cast led by the incomparable Helen Mirren as novelist Patricia Highsmith, with Alden Ehrenreich and Olivia Cooke. Meanwhile, Clarissa, an adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s Mrs. Dalloway, stars Sophie Okonedo, David Oyelowo, Ayo Edebiri, and Toheeb Jimoh.

Gold’s extensive list of accolades includes an Oscar nomination last year for her work on Hamnet, and six Emmy Awards for her contributions to acclaimed series such as Baby Reindeer, John Adams, Game of Thrones, and The Crown.
Expressing her gratitude, Gold stated, “I‘m very grateful to the Hamptons Film Festival for this honor. I am very happy and lucky to have been able to work on so many wonderful films throughout my career, and it means a great deal to be coming to the festival with Tender Loving Care.” She added, “I have the greatest pride in the work I have done with Mike Leigh and our collaborations over the last thirty years.”
David Nugent, Chief Creative Officer of HamptonsFilm, lauded Gold’s impact. “Nina Gold is one of the most storied and iconic casting directors working today, and we couldn’t think of a more fitting recipient for the inaugural Deadline Disruptor Achievement in Casting Award,” Nugent remarked. “Her instinct for finding the actor who can bring a character to life has shaped some of the most defining films and television of our time, and her influence on the craft of casting is impossible to overstate.”
Ellie Duque, President of Deadline, echoed this sentiment, noting that the publication is “thrilled to honor one of its pillars, Nina Gold, who has shaped and elevated the art of bringing a character to life on screen.”

The Hamptons International Film Festival, now in its 34th year, is showcasing over 140 films, including several World and U.S. Premieres, marking a significant edition for the event.
