Cameras are already rolling in Wales for the highly anticipated adaptation, which plunges audiences into a chilling mystery. Gabrielle Creevy takes on the role of Anna, whose life is irrevocably altered when she stumbles upon her childhood home listed on a true-crime website. The horrifying detail? It's described as the future scene of her family's deaths. Adding to the intrigue, Anna's blind date, Cai, portrayed by Callum Scott Howells, runs the very website that published the ominous post, though he vehemently denies any involvement. As the police dismiss it as a hoax, Anna's family mysteriously vanishes, forcing her into a desperate search for answers.

Howells, widely recognized for his powerful performance in Russell T. Davies' It's a Sin, is also slated to appear in another BBC Studios thriller for Channel 4, Deadpoint. Creevy, meanwhile, has been earning praise for her role as Eleanor in Netflix's hit series Black Doves, which is preparing for its second season. The two leads expressed their excitement for their complex characters.

Creevy described her character, Anna, as "a firecracker – sharp, loyal and carrying more hurt than she lets on." She added, "The moment her past comes roaring back, she’s forced into a nightmare she thought she’d escaped. It’s a gift of a role and I can’t wait for audiences to unravel the truth with her."

Howells spoke about Cai, noting he is "charming, complicated and never quite what he seems. He could be the love of Anna’s life… or the centre of a terrifying conspiracy. Playing someone who keeps you guessing is exactly the kind of challenge I love."

The series is being adapted from Savage's third thriller novel by Angharad Elen (The Light In The Hall) and Hannah Daniel (Mudtown). Production is helmed by CliffEdge Entertainment, a newly unveiled label under BBC Studios, which will also manage worldwide sales for the project. Channel 4 has already secured the rights to broadcast the drama in the UK, and industry sources indicate that a deal with a U.S. buyer is nearing completion.

The cast also features a strong ensemble, including Tamzin Outhwaite (The Wives, Ridley Road) as Anna’s stepmother Jo, and Steffan Rhodri (Gavin & Stacey) as Anna’s father, Idris. Matthew Gravelle (Mudtown), Lisa Victoria (Pobol y Cwm), Jack Quick (Pobol y Cwm), Andrew Lennon (Death Valley), Callum Hymers (The Pact), and Bella Shewan complete the main lineup. Sarah Creasey, Sathe, Angharad Elen, and Branwen Williams serve as executive producers for BBC Studios, with Sian Elen John as series producer and Geraint Todd directing.
