Javier Bardem, known for his compelling performances across a diverse filmography, will be presented with his award by acclaimed director Paolo Sorrentino, himself an Oscar winner for "The Great Beauty." The announcement was made by Salvatore Nastasi, president of the Fondazione Cinema per Roma, which oversees the event, with Paola Malanga serving as artistic director.

Adding to the festival's excitement, Bardem will also present a screening of Rodrigo Sorogoyen's "The Beloved" ("El ser querido"), a film that premiered at Cannes and is featured in Rome's 'Best of the Fests' section. In "The Beloved," Bardem portrays Esteban Martinez, an acclaimed film director with a tumultuous past, who attempts to reconnect with his estranged actress daughter by making a film together, forcing them to confront their shared history.

Bardem's recent work includes a turn at the Venice Film Festival for Florian Zeller's "Bunker," where he starred alongside his wife Penélope Cruz as a couple grappling with the unraveling of their 17-year marriage. Looking ahead, Bardem is slated to appear as Stilgar in Denis Villeneuve's anticipated "Dune: Part Three," and has recently wrapped production on Amazon MGM Studios’ “Hello & Paris,” co-starring Kate Hudson.
