Production is now underway for Things We Never Got Over, with Molly Griggs, Matthew Noszka, and Tommy Martinez tapped to star as the series' main trio. Griggs, known for her role in Netflix's The Residence, will tackle the dual roles of estranged twin sisters Naomi and Tina Witt. Joining her are Noszka, who recently appeared in Ryan Murphy’s legal drama All’s Fair, as Knox Morgan, and Martinez, best recognized for his five-season run as Gael in Freeform’s Good Trouble, portraying Nash Morgan. This marks a significant leading project for all three actors.

The series is based on Lucy Score's immensely popular novel, which has sold over 15 million copies worldwide. The story, drawing comparisons to beloved films like Runaway Bride and A Simple Favor, kicks off when Naomi flees her own wedding to come to her chaotic twin sister's aid in the quirky small town of Knockemout, Virginia. However, upon arrival, Tina vanishes, leaving Naomi unexpectedly responsible for a niece she never knew existed. Naomi must navigate an unfamiliar future in a new town, encountering intriguing characters including local sheriff Nash Morgan and bar owner Knox Morgan.

Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder are helming the adaptation as showrunners and executive producers, having also penned the pilot episode. The creative duo previously collaborated on CW shows such as Supernatural and Ringer. Gina Girolamo of Strega Stories, operating under her overall deal with Amazon, also serves as an executive producer alongside author Lucy Score.

The addition of Things We Never Got Over reinforces Prime Video's strategic focus on compelling, female-centric narratives. This commitment has previously yielded significant viewership with hits like Off Campus, which attracted 36 million viewers in just 12 days, and The Summer I Turned Pretty, a Jenny Han adaptation that concluded its three-season run in 2025 with a greenlit follow-up movie due to its immense popularity.

While production is in progress, Prime Video has yet to announce a release date for Things We Never Got Over.
