The series, crafted by creator Brad Caleb Kane, features Linda Cardellini in the pivotal role of Pam Voorhees. Pam is depicted as a single mother still grappling with the profound grief of losing her sickly young son, Jason, who tragically drowned in the town's namesake lake nearly a year prior.
The official synopsis hints at the unfolding horror: "When two strangers arrive at Pam’s door digging into her past, a disturbing chain of events is set into motion, leaving the townspeople of Crystal Lake wondering: just who is Pam Voorhees?"
The trailer suggests that the infamous curse haunting Crystal Lake is directly linked to Jason's drowning, as a group gathered around a campfire recounts the legend. The narrative begins with Cardellini's Voorhees, hinting at a malevolent presence that continues to stalk the woods, knowing only how to kill.
A previously released teaser clip opened with a creepy children's chorus chanting, "The time has come, so let out a cheer," as the screen turns red and a shrouded body is ominously wheeled out.
All eight hour-long episodes of Crystal Lake will premiere simultaneously on October 15. The ensemble cast includes series regulars William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, and Gwendolyn Sundstrom. Recurring roles are filled by Callum Vinson, Nick Cordileone, Joy Suprano, Danielle Kotch, and Phoenix Parnevik.
Executive producers for the series include Brad Caleb Kane, Marc Toberoff, Victor Miller, Robert M. Barsamian, Robert P. Barsamian, Stuart Manashil, Tyson Bidner, Michael Lennox, and Roy Lee. Directing duties were shared, with Michael Lennox helming the first three episodes, Celine Held and Logan George directing episodes 104-106, and Quyen Tran taking on the penultimate and finale episodes.
