The project, often described as a spiritual successor to Tarantino's Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood, has been shrouded in mystery, with Netflix gradually ramping up its promotional efforts. These newly released stills, highlighted by EcranLarge.com, provide the clearest indication yet of the diverse roster of characters set to populate Cliff Booth's world.
While Brad Pitt reprises his iconic role as the stuntman, the new visuals make it clear that the film is far from a one-man show. Elizabeth Debicki emerges as a significant presence in the supporting cast, featured prominently in several images. Her character, Karen Crosby, is reportedly an actor's agent who recruits Cliff Booth at the outset of the film. One intriguing image shows her in what appears to be a post-action scenario, raising questions about her character's journey.
The ensemble extends to a host of other familiar and talented actors. Scott Caan, known for his work in the Ocean's Eleven franchise, reunites with Brad Pitt. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, recently cast in Wonder Man, adds another compelling figure to the lineup. Carla Gugino, a veteran of projects like The Haunting of Hill House, also features, alongside action performers Matt Groove (a former stuntman) and JB Tadena (Kung Fu). Cult favorite Peter Weller, forever recognized as Alex Murphy from the original RoboCop films, rounds out the notable additions.
Beyond the star power, the images underscore the film's meticulous dedication to recreating the late 1970s. From era-appropriate fashion and classic automobiles to detailed interior decorations, the visual aesthetic promises a nostalgic journey, reminiscent of the period immersion seen in Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood. Moustaches and long hair abound, signaling a distinct stylistic choice.
However, the hope among fans is that Fincher's directorial vision will transcend mere nostalgic homage, delivering a fresh and compelling narrative. "Les Nouvelles Mésaventures de Cliff Booth" is scheduled for release on Netflix on December 23, 2026. For those eager to catch an early glimpse, a limited IMAX theatrical run in select U.S. screens is planned for November 24, 2026.
