New promotional stills and exclusive magazine covers, primarily sourced by Empire magazine, have surfaced for 'Dune: Part Three,' offering fans a closer look at the conclusion of Denis Villeneuve's ambitious trilogy. As reported by Ecranlarge, these images highlight key characters and hint at the darker narrative arc awaiting Paul Atreides.

The new covers from Empire showcase the film's impressive ensemble. One features Zendaya as Chani, whose role is expected to be pivotal in this installment, alongside the surprising return of Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho, a character whose presence will resonate with readers of the novels. Also appearing on this cover is Anya Taylor-Joy, who takes on the powerful role of Alia Atreides, Jessica's daughter.

A second cover puts Timothée Chalamet's Paul Atreides front and center, joined by Florence Pugh, reprising her role as Empress Irulan. A significant new addition to the cast is Robert Pattinson, making his franchise debut as Scytale, a master of secrets set to oppose the new sovereign. An additional artistic rendering by Greg Ruth for Empire further teases a unique aspect of Paul's character progression in the sequel.

Beyond the covers, two direct film stills have also been released. One captures Chani in the vast desert of Arrakis, perhaps moments after the events of 'Dune: Part Two.' The other offers a more striking visual: Paul, now a transformed figure, seated on his throne alongside his sister Alia. This image strongly implies Paul's shift from a perceived hero to a more tyrannical embodiment of prophecy, a central theme of 'Dune Messiah,' the novel upon which 'Dune: Part Three' is based.

These new visuals arrive as Warner Bros. and Skydance are throwing their full weight behind the film's marketing. 'Dune: Part Three' faces a significant challenge at the box office, as it is slated for release on December 16, 2026, the very same day as Disney's 'Avengers: Doomsday.' While 'Dune: Part Two' garnered an impressive $714.8 million worldwide on a $190 million budget, competing directly with a major Marvel blockbuster will test its popularity and its priority in IMAX theaters.

Upon the completion of 'Dune: Part Three,' director Denis Villeneuve has indicated he will conclude his work on Frank Herbert's universe. Future projects for Villeneuve are already generating buzz in Hollywood, with a potential James Bond film reportedly on his horizon.
