Netflix is giving a major platform boost to "From," the compelling sci-fi horror series that has quietly built a strong reputation since its 2022 debut. Starting October 19, 2026, the first three seasons will be accessible to Netflix's vast subscriber base, offering a fresh opportunity for the mystery-laden show to find the audience it deserves.
Created by John Griffin, "From" plunges viewers into the unsettling reality of a small, isolated town known only as the Township. Its inhabitants are trapped, unable to leave, and must contend with horrifying, nocturnal entities that emerge from the surrounding forest to prey on those who venture out or fail to secure their homes. At the heart of this beleaguered community is Boyd Stevens, played by Harold Perrineau, who has taken on the role of sheriff, striving to protect residents and uncover the secrets of their nightmarish predicament.
The series has frequently drawn comparisons to "Lost," particularly given Perrineau's previous role in that iconic mystery drama. However, as Perrineau shared with Variety, the creators of "From" operate with a more defined narrative arc. "We have a story to tell. We're going to do it in 10 episode bursts. And this is the first season, this is what you'll find out in the next season, and here's how it's going to go," he explained, suggesting a clearer path to resolution than its predecessor.
"From" has consistently impressed critics, boasting an average score of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, with its third season achieving a perfect 100%. Even horror maestro Stephen King has given the series his stamp of approval. Reviewing the first season, Brad Newsome of the Sydney Morning Herald lauded the show for being "real gory" but emphasized it's "no simple splatterfest," praising creator John Griffin's meticulous world-building and complex characters. Brian Tallerico of RogerEbert.com similarly hailed "From" as "a smart, extremely watchable horror show," predicting its potential for major success on a streaming giant.
With four seasons already aired and a fifth and final season greenlit by MGM+, viewers who discover "From" on Netflix will find plenty of compelling content to dive into, promising a complete narrative journey for this critically acclaimed genre entry.
