The film, described as an expansive survival story with a powerful emotional message, centers on a rescue team left stranded on a frozen Alaskan mountain after a violent storm. Their struggle for survival becomes a profound test not only of physical endurance but also of their faith, pushed to its absolute limits.

Production for The Rescue is scheduled to commence in New Zealand in January 2027. The project will be helmed by a directing duo, Darren Simmonds and Jared van Berkel, with van Berkel also credited as the screenwriter. Simon Ambridge, Anton Steel, and Jared van Berkel are attached as producers.
