Developed by Art of Play Interactive, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure: Arcade promises a retro-inspired experience, drawing heavily from the charm of 16-bit era games. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, offering fans a chance to relive the classic premise of the original 1989 film.

Players will once again find themselves in the predicament of Bill and Ted's crucial history report. The game sends the duo through 15 side-scrolling levels, where they must recruit historical figures to help them pass. Familiar faces like Billy the Kid, Socrates, Napoleon, Beethoven, and Genghis Khan are confirmed to appear, challenging players in unique minigames designed to secure their assistance.

Beyond the strategic recruitment of historical luminaries, the gameplay incorporates brawling elements, all brought to life with hand-crafted pixel art. An '80s rock soundtrack will further immerse players in the most bodacious timeline. The game supports both single-player mode and couch co-op, allowing friends to team up and tackle the academic challenges together, a fitting tribute to the inseparable nature of Bill and Ted's friendship.

Completing the main story mode will unlock additional content, including an arcade mode and extra minigames, ensuring replayability for dedicated fans. Art of Play Interactive, known for their work on The Phantom, brings experience in adapting established properties into engaging retro-styled action.

While an official release date has not yet been announced, a crowdfunding campaign for Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure: Arcade is scheduled to launch on BackerKit in February 2027. This campaign will offer opportunities for digital and limited physical editions of the game, alongside exclusive merchandise and apparel.
