Fans of high-octane action and sharp dialogue have reason to celebrate as Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie are once again joining forces for Dogfight, an upcoming Netflix feature. The news, reported by EcranLarge.com, confirms that the streaming giant is moving forward with the project, adding another anticipated title to its growing slate.
While specific plot details for Dogfight remain under wraps, it's described as a "stylish action and revenge film set in the London criminal underworld." This description strongly aligns with the signature style that has defined many of Ritchie's most successful works, often featuring intricate plots, memorable characters, and a distinct British sensibility.
The reunion of Statham and Ritchie is particularly noteworthy given their extensive history. Their careers effectively launched in tandem with Ritchie's second feature, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, which served as Statham's debut film. Since then, the duo has built a formidable collaborative legacy across five more films: Snatch, Revolver, Wrath of Man, Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre, and the upcoming Viva La Madness, currently in post-production.
Their partnership has consistently delivered a particular brand of hard-hitting, character-driven action, cementing Statham's status as a leading man and Ritchie's reputation as a master of ensemble crime narratives. Their latest joint venture, Dogfight, is expected to begin filming in early 2027, with casting details beyond Statham yet to be announced.
Guy Ritchie remains an incredibly prolific filmmaker. In addition to Dogfight, he recently saw his Netflix series The Gentlemen renewed for a third season, where he serves as creator, director, writer, and producer. He also has two other series in development, MobLand and Young Sherlock. On the film front, beyond Viva La Madness (a spiritual sequel to Layer Cake slated for February 2028), Ritchie has Le Clan des Fairbank, a dark comedy starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Anthony Hopkins, and Rosamund Pike, scheduled for a French theatrical release in February 2027.
With Dogfight joining this impressive roster, Ritchie continues to expand his creative footprint across film and television, often bringing his distinctive style and frequent collaborators like Statham along for the ride. Fans eagerly await more details on this promising new addition to Netflix's action lineup.
