They will lead a reworked Brotherhood Without Banners faction, now aptly retitled The Scattered Banners. This new faction brings together an eclectic mix of Legendary Champions from across the Game of Thrones universe, including fan favorites like Jaime Lannister's loyal companion Bronn, the tragic Red Wedding figure Talisa Stark, Daenerys's trusted ally Daario Naharis, and the mysterious assassin Jaqen H’ghar.
The developers describe The Scattered Banners as encompassing "those who roam the lands in search of glory or to help others. Hedge Knights, Mercenaries, Pirates, Medics, or those spreading their gospel. The Scattered Banners take on many different forms." This description promises a diverse and intriguing roster for players.
A new keyword is also in the works for The Scattered Banners, though an exact timeline for its implementation is yet to be announced. This larger faction reorganization aims to address long-standing issues within Legends, such as roster depth, the absence of recognizable characters in certain groups, and Champions currently unaffiliated with any faction. Player data has indicated a preference for faction-based Champions, while smaller groups like the Boltons and Brotherhood have proven challenging to expand with compelling characters.
Players can anticipate most of these changes to go live in late September 2026, courtesy of developer Zynga. Beyond The Scattered Banners, the update will also see the Boltons transformed into The Way of Whispers, the Free Folk becoming Beyond the Wall, and the Greyjoys reimagined as Lords of the Tide. Additionally, an entirely new faction, Sun's Dominion, will be introduced. The overhaul also promises new stats, adjusted faction bonuses, and additional dual-faction Legendary Champions, all designed to enhance team-building flexibility. This comprehensive update is set to bring fresh life to Game of Thrones: Legends, offering exciting new strategies and character combinations for players.
