Director James Watkins' 'Clayface,' a new entry from DC Studios, landed in over 3,400 North American theaters, pulling in an estimated $24 million domestically for its opening weekend. This performance, while slightly shy of Warner Bros.' initial projections of $25 million to $30 million, is a positive sign for the $44 million-budgeted film. It marks the first DC Studios release since 'Supergirl's' disappointing summer debut.
Audiences awarded 'Clayface' an A- CinemaScore, and critics have been largely favorable, with The Hollywood Reporter's Frank Scheck praising it as "a big swing that definitely pays off." The film, starring Tom Rhys Harries as Matt Hagen, an actor whose face becomes disfigured, and Naomi Ackie as the scientist he turns to for help, also garnered strong Rotten Tomatoes scores with 76% from critics and an impressive 94% from audiences.
Meanwhile, Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim's 'You Can See Everything' continued to captivate moviegoers. The documentary, which follows the story of disgraced Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes, is expected to rake in approximately $20 million in its sophomore frame. After an exceptional opening last weekend, where it debuted with $15 million from only 855 theaters—the highest-grossing launch for a release under 1,000 theaters since 2006's 'Borat'—the film expanded to 2,600 locations, pushing its domestic total to an impressive $31.7 million. The A24 release is rapidly building awards buzz, cementing its status as a critical and commercial success.

Rounding out the top contenders, Laika's stop-motion animated adventure 'Wildwood' is projected to secure third place with an estimated $11.2 million. The film, featuring the voices of Carey Mulligan, Peyton Elizabeth Lee, and Jacob Tremblay, earned an A CinemaScore and boasts a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, with critic Frank Scheck calling it "stupendous in every aspect."
Last weekend's leader, Paramount and Legendary's 'Street Fighter,' saw a significant decline, expected to land around $8.4 million, bringing its domestic cume to $46.7 million. Black Bear's romantic fantasy 'Wicker,' starring Olivia Colman and Alexander Skarsgard, opened with an estimated $5.5 million. The Hollywood Reporter's Richard Lawson lauded its "winning mix of irreverence and compassion."
Other notable releases include Taika Waititi's 'Klara and the Sun,' which opened quietly with an estimated $725,000, and Sacha Baron Cohen's 'Ali G: Who Iz I?,' which saw a limited theatrical run ahead of its Prime Video debut.
