Fans of Chris Pratt's Commander James Reece have eagerly awaited his return, and the numbers indicate their patience has paid off. According to French entertainment outlet Allocine, the second season of 'The Terminal List' has rapidly ascended to the second spot on Prime Video's most-watched series list in France. This impressive feat places it ahead of 'Neagley,' a spin-off from the popular 'Reacher' series, which now sits at fourth.
The significant gap between seasons one and two had raised questions, but Pratt himself shed light on the delay during an appearance on 'The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.' "Four years have passed since the first season," Pratt explained, attributing the hiatus to a combination of factors. "In the interim, we made a prequel series. And then there were the strikes and all sorts of things that prevented us from resuming production."
The prequel series he referenced is 'The Terminal List: Dark Wolf,' which explores the backstory of Ben Edwards, played by Taylor Kitsch, further expanding the franchise's universe.
Season two, adapted from Jack Carr's novel 'True Believer,' sees James Reece attempting to rebuild his life after the traumatic events of the first installment. However, a new threat originating from Russia soon plunges him back into a perilous world of international espionage. Pratt has promised an expanded scope for the new season, noting the extensive filming locations: "We shot in South Africa, Marrakech, Tangier, London, Greece… We were everywhere. It really feels like a big espionage thriller."
While 'The Terminal List' has successfully unseated the 'Reacher' spin-off 'Neagley' – which had garnered 40 million viewers in its first thirteen days, according to Amazon, and secured a second season order – it still faces stiff competition for the top spot. Currently, Mike Flanagan's adaptation of Stephen King's 'Carrie' dominates Prime Video's global charts. Released on October 7, the horror series, starring Summer H. Howell, has been a hit internationally, from the US to France and Australia.
The challenge now for Chris Pratt and 'The Terminal List' is whether Commander Reece can dethrone the telekinetic teenager to claim Prime Video's coveted number one position in the coming days. Both seasons of 'The Terminal List,' along with its prequel 'Dark Wolf,' are available for streaming on Prime Video.
