Fans of Regency-era drama have reason to celebrate as production recently wrapped in Wales on the festive continuation of 'The Other Bennet Sister'. The original series, which offered a fresh perspective on Jane Austen's 'Pride & Prejudice' through the eyes of the often-overlooked middle Bennet sister, Mary, captivated audiences and shattered BritBox's subscriber records.

The new three-part special picks up directly after the first season's conclusion, where Mary Bennet, portrayed by Ella Bruccoleri, agrees to marry Tom Hayward, played by Dónal Finn. The central question for the Christmas episodes, as highlighted by BritBox, is: "with marriage comes a new identity and the question remains: who will Mary become as Mrs. Hayward?" This narrative thread promises an insightful exploration of identity and societal expectations within the confines of Regency England.

Bruccoleri, known for her roles in 'Down Cemetery Road' and 'Wicker', returns to lead the cast, alongside Finn, who has appeared in 'Young Sherlock' and 'SAS Rogue Heroes'. The ensemble also sees the return of several beloved actors, including Ruth Jones as Mrs. Bennet, Tanya Reynolds as Caroline Bingley, Laurie Davidson as Mr. Ryder, and Varada Sethu as Ann Baxter. Poppy Gilbert, Maddie Close, Grace Hogg-Robinson, Molly Wright, and Anna Fenton-Garvey also reprise their roles. Nerys Amber Stocks joins the cast as Mary’s housemaid, Lucy.
