According to figures released by Box-office Pro for the week of October 7-13, 2026, "Heart of the Beast" led the French charts, adding 289,954 new admissions to reach a cumulative total of 1,172,055. This robust performance solidifies its position as a major draw, demonstrating Brad Pitt's enduring appeal to French moviegoers.
The week also welcomed two new French comedies, which made strong debuts right behind the chart-topper. "La Maison de nos rêves" and "Ducobu et le fantôme de Saint-Potache" both launched with promising figures, securing the second and third positions respectively. These local productions underscore the continued strength of French cinema within its domestic market.
Several other films demonstrated impressive staying power. Emmanuel Marre's "Notre salut" showed remarkable resilience, experiencing only an 18% drop in its second week and closing in on the half-million admissions milestone. Similarly, "Garance," a drama starring Adèle Exarchopoulos, has already surpassed 500,000 admissions, suggesting strong word-of-mouth and sustained audience interest.
However, not all new releases shared the same fate. "Ni vue, ni connue," featuring Isabelle Huppert, saw a modest start, while Aaron Sorkin's "The Social Reckoning" proved to be the week's biggest disappointment, attracting only 78,019 viewers in its opening week. In contrast, the Israeli documentary "NAZA" garnered attention with 82,262 admissions in just two days of limited release, with plans for a free streaming release on The Guardian's website in late November.
