Audrey Fleurot, a household name in France thanks to her breakout role in the hugely popular series HPI and her extensive work in Engrenages and Un village français, is making a notable leap to a leading role in a Netflix original film. While Netflix has often cast major French film actors for its high-profile local productions like Omar Sy in Lupin or Pierre Niney in Fiasco, Fleurot's casting in À cran underscores her rising star power and broad appeal across French audiences.

À cran, which translates to "On Edge" or "Under Pressure," is described as a police thriller. The film will see Fleurot portray Commander Claire Zeller, a respected police officer on the cusp of promotion, who possesses her own firm sense of justice. The plot takes a dark turn when Zeller, whose partner is pregnant, kills an assailant in self-defense and flees the scene. The next day, the body of the man she killed is found hanging from a construction crane outside her office, and she is assigned to investigate the very murder she committed. This sets off an unstoppable chain of events, threatening to unravel her life.

According to a report from Première, Samuel Bodin will direct À cran. Bodin is no stranger to Netflix, having previously created the acclaimed horror series Marianne for the platform and directed two episodes of the action-thriller series Furies. He also co-wrote the screenplay for À cran alongside Corinne Garfin (Cœurs Noirs), Régis Blondeau (Sans répit), and Mathieu Missoffe (Furies, Zone Blanche).

The film is an adaptation of the 2015 South Korean thriller The Chronicles of Evil, directed by Baek Woon-Hak, which features a similar premise of a detective investigating his own crime. This marks another instance of Netflix drawing inspiration from successful international thrillers for its local productions.

Joining Fleurot in the cast are Camélia Jordana (Le Brio), Mathieu Demy (La Femme la plus riche du monde), Jérémy Gillet (Jim Queen), and Oumar Diaw (Antigang).

Production for À cran has recently commenced in the Lyon region and Île-de-France. While no official release date has been announced, given the early stage of filming, audiences should not expect the film to arrive on the streaming platform before the latter half of 2027.
