Actress AnnaSophia Robb, known for her diverse roles, recently shared her enthusiastic experience working on the highly anticipated Prime Video original, "Supermax." In an interview with Collider, Robb expressed immense excitement for the action crime thriller, which sees her starring opposite Oscar winner Will Smith and under the direction of David Gordon Green.
"Supermax" is set to plunge audiences into a seemingly impossible scenario: a murder within the impenetrable walls of a supermax prison. Robb will portray an FBI agent tasked with unraveling the mystery alongside Smith, promising an escalating series of events as they delve deeper into the case.
Robb highlighted the opportunity to collaborate with both Smith and Green as a primary draw to the project. "What drew me to that project? Will and David," she confirmed to Collider. Her admiration for the creative team was evident, as she remarked, "I get to play an FBI agent in an action movie in a David Gordon Green movie alongside Will Smith. I'm like, 'pinch me!' Every single day, I was like, 'This is crazy!'"
Green, known for his work on the Halloween reboot trilogy and collaborations with Danny McBride, directs "Supermax" from a screenplay penned by David Weil, co-creator of "Citadel" and "Invasion," and David J. Rosen. The cast also includes Jason Clarke and Jaafar Jackson, the breakout star of the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic, "Michael."
Reflecting on the intensity of the series, Robb didn't hold back, teasing, "It is an absolute rocket ride." She further elaborated on the premise: "Two FBI agents. There's a murder in a supermax prison, and we have to solve it. Then things go wild."
Production on "Supermax" recently wrapped, and it is currently in post-production. While a specific release date has yet to be announced, Prime Video subscribers can anticipate its arrival on the streaming platform in 2027.
