Amy Ryan, recognized for her roles in 'Gone Baby Gone' and 'The Wire,' has landed her first series regular role in 'The Retrievals.' She will portray Carla Russo, a veteran nurse at the Yale Fertility Center who pleads guilty to diverting vast quantities of fentanyl, diluting it with saline, and consequently forcing numerous patients to endure egg retrieval surgery without proper anesthesia.

Emilia Jones ('CODA') will star as Gabby Clemente, one of Carla's victims who takes the lead in a groundbreaking legal battle against Yale University.

Inspired by Susan Burton's Peabody-winning New York Times podcast, 'The Retrievals' will explore the formation of an unexpected community of IVF patients who unite to seek justice against Yale University following these harrowing operations.

Molly Smith Metzler serves as the writer and showrunner for the series, executive producing through her Quiet Coyote banner alongside her 'Maid' and 'Sirens' collaborators Colin McKenna and LuckyChap. The LuckyChap team of Dani Gorin, Tom Ackerley, and Margot Robbie are also on board as executive producers. Additional executive producers include Caitlin Roper for The New York Times and podcast writer Susan Burton.

Lila Neugebauer, who previously directed episodes of Metzler's 'Maid' and 'Sirens,' is set to direct the pilot episode of 'The Retrievals' and will also executive produce.

Ryan's extensive television career includes notable recurring roles in HBO's 'The Wire,' NBC's 'The Office,' Hulu's 'Only Murders In the Building,' and the first season of Apple TV+'s 'Sugar.' She is also slated to appear in Tom McCarthy’s upcoming film 'A Statement,' which will premiere at the New York Film Festival.
